    New house part 3

OMG! Its like 1 post everyday for this wkend for new house hahah...

Morn: Decided to wake up early to have some personal development time. hahah This decision is assisted by the bright sunlight and hot weather of course. Oh ya, definition of personal development time = go lib, shopping, manicure, pedicure etc etc basically frivolous stuff that doesnt require planning or brains and of course I must be conscious hahah.. So woke up at 9am had breakfast, chat w ma then go lib! Hahah... Now lib got promotion too! Can borrow up to 8 books! Shiok! Not that I can read 8 books within 3 weeks but it means I can borrow home deco magazines! hahah Home deco magazines dun need much reading time just flip thru for pictures can le =p hahah So I ended up with 5 books and 3 magazines =D Anyway nowadays, library have erm... unusual book titles.. Think all I need is to hold the 2nd book then I shld b able to find a husband? hahaha
    DSC00193DSC00194DSC00195

Remaining day is spent on furniture shopping liao. haha Ok Me first.
    I m considering the following:
For wardrobe, I quite like the following from IKEA cuz its like not 1 whole stretch (rm too small for 1 whole stretch) and it makes rather good use of corner. But ma say may be a bit too small. I think I m not a very gd photographer cuz its makes e wardrobe look small. Bah! nm....
    130_2007130_2008

Then for my bed, I dun want a short bedframe cuz I want it to be similar level to the 39" ledge. The follow bedframe is 48". Dunno whether 9" diff will be ugly anot. N ya colours not in sync with wardrobe. =p hahah...  Can choose colour for bedframe la. But dun tink can choose wood too. lol... Nm... Still tinking....
    DSC00196

Then I realise I forgot to plan for dressing table! bah! hahahha... Nm.... Next wk go out for more inspiring ideas =p

Now I shall go to my ever powerful mom! She bought a sofa (S$399), queen size mattress (S$550), some hanging clothes device (S$788), 1 Sony 40" LCD TV (S$1899), 1 Sony 32" LCD TV (S$899), 1 Sony DVD Recorder (S$249). Yup all bought TODAY! amazing hor? Best part is she just look, listen, bargain n decide then pa sign for it and I read the invoice. :-| Just like CEO hor.  hahaha....
The lady whom we bought mattress from is very happening. She's 47 le but she can easily pass off as late thirties and she got tattoo on her back and she did belly piercing before! hahah Hip hor?

Then we wanted to go Sitex but the road leading to the carpark is jam lo damn sianz... all the cars just park along roadside kind.. Some even parked a few streets away. Damn sianz so we decided to go backup plan of IKEA and COURTS at Tampines there haha... =p

    Zzzz super tiring day...

    New house Part 2

Hahah... Wonder when I will get bored about blogging my visits to the new house lol....

So this morn, my mum gave me a task to bring bro to see the new house considering he has nvr seen it before So off we go walking and my 2nd visit as home owner's daughter! Haha saded NYJC side gate now is access by card so we gotta go via long way. haha Anyway, today is the first time I tried opening the door AND i couldnt open it -_-" Lucky bro was ard so he manage to open it. hahah He seems quite happy with the house too... Brought him to see the swimming and he commented he can swim before going to work... Ya ya ya... me n my bro are vastly different hahah Anyway more pics of the pool aka drain!

130_2004 <--- This is the day shot of the pic in prev post.

130_2006 <--- This angle makes e pool more deserving of its name of drain, right?

After showing my bro ard, I rushed off to meet fren for facial at Chinatown. Then my ma called me. I brought the only key to the condo out w me so they cant show my grandparents the condo. -_-" Yeah I feel stupid... Lucky for me they meeting grandparents at 4+pm and my facial will end at 4pm. So all I need to do is to pia home after facial. So i gotta pang seh my fren for shopping haha.... Luckily, we didnt arrange to eat dinner together too (cuz i know my ma too well. She will last min throw spanner and ask me meet her for some reno/furniture shopping etc. But ok this time is me myself who throw e spanner hahah...) Anyway, digress abit on my facial. Wah the facial extraction portion is painful la! hahah cuz she squeezing blackheads and dunno what la didnt catch her words. Then when it reach the eyebrow trimming portion, I told her I will give it a miss haha...  My face is just too sore to take any more plucking =p I have low tolerance of pain haha... Then she put on clay mask and told me dun hav too much facial expression otherwise will hav wrinkles. Shortly, after putting on e mask, she gave me a shoulder massage. I tell u for a petite girl, she sure got lotsa strength. It was painful and I must have grimace or something then she hurriedly told me she will reduce strength; think she scared i grimace somemore and have wrinkles? hahah... Then thruout the session, I was quite restless la... First I kick the blanket aside cuz its hot then i keep moving my legs ard then finall i tuck my legs under the blanket cuz it grew cold... Close to end of session then the facial girl say "almost done. can see u very restless" hahah or something along that line... Anyway facial ended so back to pia-ing home..

3rd visit is with grandparents and this time I did something constructive: I took some measurements! =D

    Bro's bedroom
9ft for wall along window starting from study table till wall
7ft for the wall perpendicular to stretch of window

    My bedroom
9 ft for wall along window
Ledge 39 inches tall and 22.5 inches thick. (I can sit on the ledge! haha quite shiok...)
123 inches for wall perpendicular to stretch of window
wall next to doorway and excluding switch section is 5 ft

    Kitchen
    Width is 91 inches
    Sink/stove is 2 ft thick
Wall with clock is 68 inches
1 pane of sliding glass door entrance to kitche is 35 inches

    Bomb shelter
    82 inches by 52 inches

    Living rm
    TV wall is 94 inches

Hahah today we visit the house ard 5+pm so brighter but sun was shining through the master bedroom and living rm. So think next time we gotta hide in e 2 small bedrms during late afternoon? Guess this is the price to pay for good view? *sour grapes* (My rm view not so nice but it got no sun! =D ) Anyway my grandma saw the cupboard in my rm and say they are like brand new so shldnt change. I say I really dun like e design so I wanna strip it off and build a new set. My grandma then said: " U also just going to stay for a few more yrs mah. Why waste the $$?" 家有一老如有一老. Then grandma also highlight master bedrm floor is parquet so when make sure feet is dry when coming out of bath from the master bedrm bathroom. Anyway ma say she saw some crevices in the parquet floor and she scared got bugs so tinking of digging them out hahah... *blink blink*

Another pic of living rm view
    130_2005

Bio finish is dinner time! We had chi char at coffee shop near our new house aka near my curr house too haha... then send grandparents home then still early mah so jio fren out for movie. We watched Quantum of Solace. So totally clueless whats going on. Too much tracking to be done hahah... N this ends my day!

haha... First, wkends r spent looking at/for houses. Now subsequent wkends will be spent on looking for furnitures and reno. haha... Maybe wkends wun be so boring after all? This feels abit like when we were getting our current house. I also ran ard w my ma even tho I was a kid then haha... i still rem pouring through the HDB price lists for the various units; coming to see this plot of land even before foundations were laid, we went up neighbouring blocks to check out the height etc haha; sourcing for contractors; neighbours coming to visit our house; then finally move in day: my aunt came over to cook and I keep going into kitchen and eat. haha =p

Anyone has any idea how to export all the blogs into word doc format? Wanna backup =p Just realised this is abit like my timesheet records le. My memory seems to b failing me as the years go by. There are alot of things that I seem to forget or is it I didnt do anything worth remembering?

    New house part 1

Haha... today ma got keys to the new house. Can barely sit still during the last hour of work. lol...

    Hong Kong Trip 200811

Exchange rate is S$1 to HKD5.10

    15th Nov
Board plane at 0640hr. Still feel quite stupid for booking such an early flight hahah But good thing is... I can fall asleep during take off! lol... that sure eliminates lotsa discomfort. My fren was totally knocked out hahah She only left office at 1am the nite before. Reached Hong Kong airport and fren's relatives took us for dim sum at Chao Inn at Terminal 2. Food was not bad. Had roasted pigeon and 卤鹅. Cause still groggy and no photos so thats the only 2 dish I remember bwhahah.... Then we finish lunch ard 2pm bah then we took A11 (a bus) to Shun Tak Ferry Terminal to meet our hostess for the next 3 nites! =D hahah...  Our accomodation is at Des Voeux Road West, Sheung Wan. The whole street is full of dried seafood: dried fish, scallaps, abalone, tink really almost every dried stuff I have ever seen before can be found there. =p
Fren's place looks like a hotel! hahah walk in then there's this short corridor with toilet on your left. then further in u can see the bed le! haha then the floor before the bed can put in another 2 more mattresses. No kitchen. Everyday, there will be someone coming in to clean the room. Rent there is about HKD15,000.
Then fren n i were quite shacked over the flight; so nua ard, wash off e weariness, change then off we go to take e tram to the Peak! I tell u e most amazing thing abt the tram is .... it travels over very steep slopes! haha amazing... quite scary u know when i turn ard to see e steepness. Wasnt able to capture a decent pic to illustrate the steepness tho. When we reach the Peak, we wanted to go to the viewing gallery and realise we have to pay! -_-" Pay HKD20 each to go to the rooftop. Quite glad that we reached there ard 5+pm cause its starting to get dark and the lights of the buildings are on! Omg its like so colourful! hahah... Some of their building will change color de! So pretty! =p
anyway wander ard then its time for dinner @ American Restaurant! =p It serves Chinese food btw. We ordered fish, prawn, chicken and a whole Peking duck for 3 ppl.... -_- hahah the waiter did warn us the portions will be quite big but fren insisted cuz they r famous for their Peking duck. haha e chicken is done quite well cuz of the crispy skin; e prawn is rather nice too so all in all quite a filling dinner =p
     130_1806130_1807
After this we went to MongKok. It was ard 9+pm and its full of ppl! haha Think its cuz of sat nite bah. Went to this Esprit factory outlet and I bought a black cardigan for HKD109. =D Then shop ard somemore; went to H&M then the stores started closing so in the end we took a bus back to fren's place. Finally can rest. So shag after the flight =p

    16th Nov
This is a day of eating, I tell u. First egg tarts and wife biscuits at 泰昌饼家. Then dumpling noodles across e streets. Oh e dumplings are with bamboo shoots inside de very nice! =D Then milk tea and toast at 翠華餐廳 Considering I dont really like peanut butter; their peanut butter toast is really quite good! hahah.. Yeah so after all the feeding, we are ready!
    130_1808130_1812130_1813130_1815
First back to Mongkok. Think the place we went to is Argyle Shopping Centre, Exit D2 from the MTR. Anyway fren termed it as 'Fire Hazard' hahah due to the tightly packed together shops. Shopping here is at good prices. Saw some cropped cardigans going for HKD30. I bought a pair of purple wedges, a pair of boots and a long-sleeve top. Think total amount to less than S$80 bah. haha...
After this we went 尖沙咀 haha ate porridge 潮发粥面; my first taste of HK porridge: very lil rice, yet not very watery, rather smooth. BTW, i wasnt hungry when we go eat porridge hahah fren just insisted we must try! lol...
    130_1818
After eating, we window shop along that street.
After that went back and put down stuff then we proceed to Causeway Bay to meet up another of fren's fren for dinner! Went to this shop along the street to buy earrings. Very cheap! HKD50 for 2 pairs! hahah Bought a total of 8 pairs =D Yeah anyway dinner was at 翠華餐廳厅. Claypot rice! Quite good! I had pork ribs with some sort of sausage la. The main thing is the pork ribs are quite soft and wun stick to teeth haha... 130_1826

Desserts is... or should i say are 2 places. First is 義順牛奶公司 which sells milk pudding We ordered chocolate and original. The chocolate wan nothing much cuz cannot really taste the milk and its rather plain. The milk pudding was better; it tastes strongly of.... milk lo hahaha.. Then its this Lucky Desserts place which sells fruits and u choose the wrappings or how u want it done. You can take a look at the pics. But my fav is the durian wrapped with some yellow skin thingy; this says alot since i dun really like eating durian. The durian is of quite gd quality; not too sweet, more towards the slightly bitter kind. Yum! hahah... N that ends our food for e day. Amazing hor?

    130_1832130_1834130_1838130_1839

Then we went to visit fren's place which looks rather cosy. Think its ard 600 sq ft or so. U walk in and there's an open kitchen on ur right, then there are 2 rooms. thnk each rm can hold a master bedroom with a walking space ard it. Quite tastefully done up; rent is HKD16,500 per mth

    17th Nov
Everyday must start with breakfast mah so off we go to find Treasure Lake Seafood Restaurant. Monday liao mah so no more fren as guide ard cuz they gotta work le. Yeah so fren n I got a bit lost but we persevere and eventually found it! Thats why i look so happy =D  Ok food... Aiya go see the pics I lazy to type hahah Think there were 8 dishes in total! lol.. the waitresses there must be stunned to see 2 girls eat so much. Think the fish porridge is must try! haha Dunno wat fish they use but the texture abit like chicken kind and they add in some cabbage to the porridge so it tastes very refreshing =D The fried chee cheong fun is a disappointment cuz they didnt put enuff 虾米 so taste not strong enuff. Whole breakfast cost HKD130. Think its quite cheap considering the amt we ordered =p Oh oh that place is where all the aunties and uncles gather to yum cha so think me n fren r youngest there. Imagine if they know we frm spore they will be like "better dun get daughter-in-law frm spore, 吃穷你" hahah
    130_1852130_1853130_1856130_1857

After our very full breakfast, its off to Ocean Park! hahah Yeah I gotta drag my fren there cuz she's not very keen on theme parks haha But I figured I must at least see it once since some ppl say its better than HK disney. =p I tell you this park is full of very long escalators. We just keep going up and up; then we tot we got lost. (this is e only way I could get my fren to take pic w YMM; she tinks I m childish =( ) 130_1873
So first we watch some dolphin shows; I m quite amazed that the dolphins can perform the 1st portion by memory. I assume by memory la since I dun see any human ard to give them instructions. Then we went to see their aquariums which I must say is quite impressive haha. they got 1 whole section on jellyfish! Swimming not on table as food =p
    130_1887130_1889130_1894130_1924 - Copy
Then we took the ferris wheel and following ride which make me fee giddy. Ya I m weak; thats why I nvr took roller coaster
    130_1910

After this we went to take cable car to go the other part of Ocean Park where there's an exit la hahah... The cable car is scary too cuz it will rattle a bit at some portions and its rather high and steep too!
    130_1930130_1933
We reach e other side go visit the pandas, buy some souveniors and we are outta there. haha Very hot day and there r alot of slopes inside so fren n I are very tired lol....
So took this citybus back to admiralty then we walked ard this Pacific Place and 2 words to describe: decadent and opulent. So many branded and the shops are quite big with alot of products inside. Its like 2 times e size of taka so double the amt. I didnt even know some brands existed haha
After this is Causeway Bay. We started @ Island Beverly where the things are very expensive so didnt buy much. Did buy 2 wedding gift tho =D Very nice. I told my fren I want it for my wedding but she rolled her eyes at me; think its cuz I dun even hav a bf yet? =D haha... Walked ard then didnt buy anything then I went supermarket and helped a fren buy some soup base. I also 顺便 top up my supply of chewing gum here hahah...

After this is the rush to 尖沙咀 for the Symphony of Lights. Yeah we got a decent place which dun hav squeeze w ppl but the music is abit soft la. haha... Quite amazed at the coordination work among the various buildings lei. haha Quite pretty but fren did commented that it could have been more impressive if more buildings are involved. =D

Then we took the ferry back to HK Island portion and we walked to IFC to go to the mid level escalators. Its a very long stretch of escalators which is supposed to go all the way up to close to The Peak. Amazing hor? While walking on the streets below, you will just tink the escalator is a bridge or something cuz it doesnt really standout haha. Oh there is this machine u can tap along the bridges/escalator and it will give u back some money u paid for the MTR trip u took before u start on the escalator. Interesting hor? Its to encourage ppl to walk and use the mid level escalator to ease the congestion in the trains. Anyway, we did not board the escalator for fun only. Its to go to The Peak Cafe for dinner =D I ordered some duck in curry. It tastes quite authentic. For drinks, I got a Raspberry Mojito which is very nice! haha... Oh the thing I like abt this place is the ambience. They play quite nice music (something like pop but not really mainstream pop la); not too loud also so good for chatting w frenz. So after dinner, fren's frenz insisted we should take a walk around Lan Kwai Fong to see the clubbing scene. Ha! Considering its a mon nite, there are quite a number of ppl milling ard. They sure have lotsa energy haha... Oh this area is a very steep slope area so by the time I walk ard there I quite breathless le hahah Dun tink I can cheong haha....

    18th Nov
Our last day in HK le. Woke up late then slowly stroll ard to look for breakfast. End up at Green Island where I had the following. Cost HKD22. Just taste normal lo.
    130_1945
Then we stroll ard SOHO area and I went to a temple then somehow we reach the mid level escalator again hahah... Amazing how far we strolled hahah.. So go IFC mall and once again see e words opulent written all around. Then my fren went to meet her frenz for lunch and I proceed to Tung Chung for some last min shopping haha.... I went to the Citygate and bought quite a bit here. Tank top, 1 male polo shirt, 1 male t-shirt, 1 top for myself and a watch! haha.. Was actually tinking of going to see the Big Buddha but spent too much time at the shopping so gotta go back and prepare go airport le =p
My fren brought back roast goose from Yuen Kee which her fren recommended. Not bad quite nice. I polish the whole box off haha... even tho I tot I couldnt finish at first.
Pack up, go take bus A11 to go airport. Shop ard have dinner at this not very nice dumpling place. Yucks. I took off the skin and just ate the meat cuz the skin is thick and not nice. 130_1949
Then buy wife biscuits and its time to board the plane to go back to Spore home sweet home! =D

    Summary
    - HK is still full of stairs, slopes are plenty and roads are not very even. This means cannot wear heels there. ha! not that I did la but... just something frenz there highlighted
    - Air tickets cost S$350 and my expenses total to S$650 haha... so overall trip is S$1K.
    - Fren was blackberrying thruout the whole trip, even on the cable car. think she got addiction? =p
    - Oh oh another small thing I learn, it seems that some HK-ers feel that Kowloon area is quite unorderly so they will avoid going and they cant understand why tourists like its so much there. =p

Wah finally finish writing abt the whole trip. Now that I look back seems that we have a pretty packed itinerary hahah....
    November 09

    a series of unrelated events

Wah super long nvr blog... so wat trigger this blog? Ma say I just cut my hair why go cut again -_-" But i rem i cut for 2,3 mths liao lei haah Nm.... tis time i write down! I just cut my hair on 8 Nov! lol...

    24th Oct
我好不容易找到人陪我去看武侠梁祝 then my fren call me to pei her watch a concert. E concert is... ... ... the instrumental kind of concert. The feature of that concert is harp. -_-" hahah... quite weird hor? Yan Ling go for this kind of concert. Oh well... bo bian mah.... I m already her very last choice n technically speaking I haben book the movie tix for 武侠梁祝 so go lo. Anyway, harp really sound quite heavenly; e note is very pure. So quite an eye-opener or rather ear-opener. And harp is erm huge! The players I saw were female so find it quite amazing that they can wear long gown n still tilt the harp towards them. Oh harp have ah... pedals wan... something like organ or is it piano? hahha I m such a music idiot =p

    27th Oct
I finally got to watch 武侠梁祝! So happy! 吴尊 is so cute!!! ah.... N u know wats the surprise? 胡歌 is inside too!! OMG! 2 super cute guys in 1 movie. When 胡歌 came out, there's a series of "ahhh.." from the females of e cinema. Lol... guess I m not e only one there for the looks. =p

    1st Nov
Was rather sianz thruout the week so decided to jio cycling for sat. Then someone suggested cycling to marina barrage based on this blog. Rained in the morn but I believed it will clear up so we still meet at ECP mac. Finally move our asses ard 11.30am. Cycled towards ford road. Our first obstacle is a bridge that ended in a dead end. But we r a determined bunch so...
     DSC00160
Apparently it lead to an unopened section of ECP so the whole road is empty except for us. N... deadend no 2
    n704166129_1080360_1508

Still we persists! We did a U-turn back to the bridge there and go towards Tanjong Rhu. Cycled pass the dream condos and we reach an opening in the fenced up area of the Garden in the City, or something named along that line. As mentioned earlier, it rained in e morning so the road was.... muddy. Then quite a portion of the road is slope the plus soft ground so for most parts of this journey, I was pushing my bike.
    DSC00165 n704166129_1080549_8016

Good things for those who persevere. =D My sec sch motto always works =D
     n704166129_1080548_7773 n704166129_1080550_8437

When we reach e bridge that lead from this wildness to the Marina Barrage, we got stopped by security! The security say that day is e opening so we cannot push our muddy bike in so...
    DSC00179

We went in and wander ard the place for a while. Its built as an informative kind of place so abit museum like. We saw a LHT Pte Ltd =p For those who understand haha... Think we wander abt 2 -3 hrs inside. Oh oh... someone made sandwiches! Very pro-looking and taste good sanwich! I ate 2!
    n704166129_1080592_1976

All too soon its going back time... N we figured that we dun wanna go back the route we came cuz its too muddy and hard to cycle. So off to another adventure! We saw a police car coming out of this road so we figure since they can come out of this road means its a through road so we went thru this stony path. Wah! E thing that worry us most is whether any of the stones will puncture the tyres anot. Very jerky ride.
    n704166129_1080377_7828

The police car must have keys ...
    DSC00180

U-Turn back... go towards the less stony path. We saw a truck travelling very slowly so we ask the driver for directions. He say just follow the road and we will reach the exit. Yippee! Saviour! of course... more mud
    n704166129_1080387_875

Saviour no 2! Why? Bike rental shop uncle specifically told us to keep to pavement and not cycle off track into sand kind =p hahah... But saviour no 2 manage to help us get rid most of e mud so the bikes look decent for returning. (Saviour is e one in yellow boots btw =p)
    n704166129_1080394_3239

Errr.. Saviour no 2 is there to clean off the mud off the trucks thats going onto the main road.... In case u guys wonder why is there an uncle holding a hose there =pn704166129_1080401_5531

Back to civilisation!!! =D see e relieved looks? =D
    DSC00185

We return bike ard 5+pm hahah Bike rental shop uncle took a look at our bikes then tell his staff to send all of them for hose-ing. =p hahah oh well, we did our best to get the mud le =p
Think e most amazing cycling trip ever. Why? Cuz of e number of obstacles -_- Amazed by our perseverence =D

Now u know why tis blog is titled a series of unrelated events =p
