24th Oct
我好不容易找到人陪我去看武侠梁祝 then my fren call me to pei her watch a concert. E concert is... ... ... the instrumental kind of concert. The feature of that concert is harp. -_-" hahah... quite weird hor? Yan Ling go for this kind of concert. Oh well... bo bian mah.... I m already her very last choice n technically speaking I haben book the movie tix for 武侠梁祝 so go lo. Anyway, harp really sound quite heavenly; e note is very pure. So quite an eye-opener or rather ear-opener. And harp is erm huge! The players I saw were female so find it quite amazing that they can wear long gown n still tilt the harp towards them. Oh harp have ah... pedals wan... something like organ or is it piano? hahha I m such a music idiot =p
27th Oct
I finally got to watch 武侠梁祝! So happy! 吴尊 is so cute!!! ah.... N u know wats the surprise? 胡歌 is inside too!! OMG! 2 super cute guys in 1 movie. When 胡歌 came out, there's a series of "ahhh.." from the females of e cinema. Lol... guess I m not e only one there for the looks. =p
1st Nov
Was rather sianz thruout the week so decided to jio cycling for sat. Then someone suggested cycling to marina barrage based on this blog. Rained in the morn but I believed it will clear up so we still meet at ECP mac. Finally move our asses ard 11.30am. Cycled towards ford road. Our first obstacle is a bridge that ended in a dead end. But we r a determined bunch so...
Apparently it lead to an unopened section of ECP so the whole road is empty except for us. N... deadend no 2
Still we persists! We did a U-turn back to the bridge there and go towards Tanjong Rhu. Cycled pass the dream condos and we reach an opening in the fenced up area of the Garden in the City, or something named along that line. As mentioned earlier, it rained in e morning so the road was.... muddy. Then quite a portion of the road is slope the plus soft ground so for most parts of this journey, I was pushing my bike.
Good things for those who persevere. =D My sec sch motto always works =D
When we reach e bridge that lead from this wildness to the Marina Barrage, we got stopped by security! The security say that day is e opening so we cannot push our muddy bike in so...
We went in and wander ard the place for a while. Its built as an informative kind of place so abit museum like. We saw a LHT Pte Ltd =p For those who understand haha... Think we wander abt 2 -3 hrs inside. Oh oh... someone made sandwiches! Very pro-looking and taste good sanwich! I ate 2!
All too soon its going back time... N we figured that we dun wanna go back the route we came cuz its too muddy and hard to cycle. So off to another adventure! We saw a police car coming out of this road so we figure since they can come out of this road means its a through road so we went thru this stony path. Wah! E thing that worry us most is whether any of the stones will puncture the tyres anot. Very jerky ride.
The police car must have keys ...
U-Turn back... go towards the less stony path. We saw a truck travelling very slowly so we ask the driver for directions. He say just follow the road and we will reach the exit. Yippee! Saviour! of course... more mud
Saviour no 2! Why? Bike rental shop uncle specifically told us to keep to pavement and not cycle off track into sand kind =p hahah... But saviour no 2 manage to help us get rid most of e mud so the bikes look decent for returning. (Saviour is e one in yellow boots btw =p)
Errr.. Saviour no 2 is there to clean off the mud off the trucks thats going onto the main road.... In case u guys wonder why is there an uncle holding a hose there =p
Back to civilisation!!! =D see e relieved looks? =D
We return bike ard 5+pm hahah Bike rental shop uncle took a look at our bikes then tell his staff to send all of them for hose-ing. =p hahah oh well, we did our best to get the mud le =p
Think e most amazing cycling trip ever. Why? Cuz of e number of obstacles -_- Amazed by our perseverence =D
Now u know why tis blog is titled a series of unrelated events =p September 21 20080920 the day I....The day has finally come! I have to buy my own sweets! yea yea.. ever since papa shop closes on 31st may, I didnt buy sweets. There are still leftovers lying ard the house mah. But now the leftovers r gone.. n yday when I go shopping, I suddenly have e urge to eat tic tac so I walked into Guardian and buy. It cost me $1.10. -_-" Last time when I sit behind cashier and look at tic tacs, it always in cents lei. Like 70 cents. Didnt know sweets outside papa shop actually cost quite a bit more. hahaha
Yeah yeah this is darn trivial rite? but look at my blog name! 柴米油盐 wah! =p September 06 Flea martLol.... today marmee got a flea mart lobang at changi village then in e morn she ask me if got plans. Then I say plans not confirm then she say dun confirm n go w her to help out -_-"
Rain in e afternoon then when we drive there in e evening, sun very brite so all happy.
Reach there then realise our stall is next to SCxx -_-" think no one wanna buy lanterns with "police" looking at u bah ... at 6+, 7+ very little ppl walk so very lil business. Then hor finally got this family with the father very willing to buy lanterns then got tis auntie from SCxx pull them away! bah! so i play sparklers then this uncle from another stall say my sparklers got bits hit him. *faint* i was playing like 3m away lo. From kid play till now, nvr hit ppl before then now hit him?! i tink he can go buy Toto liao... hahah.... then 1 SCxx ppl say better prepare fire extinguisher *roll eyes* these ppl confirm dun hav childhood hahahah.... last time when I was young (police were wearing long pants then as are police now so no diff) my neighbour n my bros n i scraped off the powder from the sparklers and create "bombs" hahha then we play outside our flats there =p so fun... Then at the playground, when 1 of our lanterns burnt up we will create a bonfire and burn the remainin lanterns lol.... tink the SCxx ppl will faint when read this. hahahaha..... Anyway, back to the dismal flea mart, ya business not very good cuz e kids dun even pester their parents to buy.... They scared of getting burnt? =p Anyway, soon after it rain.... heavily somemore! sigh... no signs of stopping kind. Goods all drenched, I drenched , parents drenched... totally miserable n i got a new wet look
Tadah! taken using Samsung SGH-F400
Following 2 are by my trusty Kodak
Ya my nite shot skill still sux.... Should I get a tripod?
All in all not very midautmnny feel. Maybe can go http://www.2008lanternfestival.com.sg/ but tink I should get a tripod before going =p August 24 Highlights to dateLol... Hmm.. seems that the last 2 yrs hav been rather uneventful or I got hit on e head and lose my memory? =p
July 20 wkend activitiesDriving story: I put the key into the ignition hole but I cant turn it!! Then I panic.... It was 12.40 am le lor in some ulu car park at kallang leisure park. So I called my dad who dunno how to unlock it too. Then I decided to call my fren hahah lucky fren haben go up expressway otherwise I think I will get scolding le =p Fren so smart!!! Told me to turn the steering wheel then turn the key then can le! Happy! =) Reason for unable to turn key in ignition hole
Noticed something about my driving.... I dun seem to shift to gear 5 fast enough... Guess gotta take note...
Today seems to be a day of getting lost. First I turn the wrong way when I exit PIE onto Bedok North Road. I went e opp direction from where I m supposed to go =p So u-turn then I turn into the wrong avenue so once again U-turn. oh well... all mistakes will let me learn =) Then today on my way home from Kallang Leisure Park, I also abit blur where I was but somehow still managed to get home =S abit dependent on 6th sense kind.... no good.... I must go there again and make it deterministic. =D Somehow or other the roads there seem diff from the ones shown on maps.... dunno why..
Oh finally went to the cinema at kallang leisure park! Its quite good~ (to me, cinema good = a person can walk past without me tucking in my legs kind ) I like big leg space =p Screen feels the same to me... tot e audio was not bad.. but maybe cuz its new =p Guess the only prob is the accessibility of that place. If i dun hav e van today, I also wun go there bah...
tired... Went cycling before movie. Cycled for a very long distance today: from ECP mac to some 5km from changi beach. Think we cycled till some ulu corner of Changi airport. hahah amazing... my lower body was rather numb on my return trip hahah... N i still managed to drive to catch a movie. lol... Just before I enter the carpark for Kallang leisure park, I saw fireworks! =D happy... Quite nice to see fireworks after a crappy, bluely day. Also dunno why I so blue today, must be the weather hahah... July 06 Wkend musings...Feeling sleeping on a lazy Sunday hahah....
Driving story on 04/07/2008: I entered a 1.9m HDB carpark and I hear a .. very loud clang sound! hahah tot the board fall off or something but lucky it didnt. Doesnt matter to papa's van la since it already got a dent up there. Whats a few more scratches rite? =D
Wanted to go Absolute Haven to try on 05/07/2008 but it rained! so abit mafan to walk from Dhoby Ghaut mrt over la. Ended up at ichiban which is nice.... but no sense of novelty i guess...
Showed my frenz the jiemei photos from 15/06/2008. Their comments was "is tube the dress code?" haha... Now that I look at it... ya seems quite qiao all turn up in tube =p What you think?
Showed them the pic cuz I told them I bought a dress which I cannot sit (can only sit at e tip of chair kind), cannot squat, cannot walk in big steps. Lucky I decided not to drive that day. Otherwise dunno how to climb up to the van =S
Its time to get a new hp. My Sony Ericsson W580i needs to go for services again; cannot use 2 of the buttons. Sianz... Think I shall just get a new hp using my bro's contract. Send for servicing once is fine but send for servicing twice in half a yr is just a bit too much bah. Tot getting Samsung U700 cuz it comes in purple! But the reviews like crap so guess back to Sony Ericsson. Hmm... W350i? It got purple too =) N it has the flip feature =p so nostalgia. July 02 Eastern Europe 200806My trip this time is to Eastern Europe.
State, country in order of travel: Berlin, Germany -> Dresden, Germany -> Prague, Czech -> Krakow, Poland -> Vienna, Austria -> Budapest, Hungary -> Bratislava, Slovakia -> Vienna, Austria
Summary is at bottom if you wanna bypass the minute details.
Exchange rate was S$2.12 to 1 Euro
EE refers to Eastern Europe. Too tired to keep typing it in full.
20/06/2008: Istanbul, Turkey -> Berlin, Germany
Flight start from Changi Airport Terminal 1. Flying Turkish Airline. haha leg space is cramped =p started flight with gossiping and somehow gossiped for 2 hrs. Amazing.... then watched PS I Love You. Kinda slow so doze off every now and then. Then I got tired of dozing so I took my sleeping pill and slept for 4 hrs straight. Shiok! Then woke up n finish the show. And the 11 hr flight just pass like that and I reached...... Istanbul airport! hahah transit time. Feeling greedy so I bought a Kinder bueno chocolate with cereal inside wan. very nice =) then saw BK and bought chicken wings for 7 Euros =S expensive wings. but I think there's like 10 of them so not so bad and its rather tasty haha...
21/06/2008: Berlin, Germany
Reached Berlin at 1115hr. Guide gave us half an hr to wash up. My 1 litre nalgene water bottle reached in 1 piece so I could drink water once I got my luggage! bwhahah.... *happy* Then we board bus at 1145hr and head for Pork Knuckle lunch! Yum yum. Look at album for pics =) Meat is tender with a huge mount of potato =p After lunch, we start our Berlin city tour. Saw their Reichstag Building which have sculptures on their wall, Italian Renaissance style. But hor... they have a glass dome on top and some clear glass panes (ie not stained glass pattern) which kinda break e Renaissance style. For sporeans, imagine old Supreme court with a glass dome on top =S After this was a series of Berlin wall visits. Starting with Brandenburg Gate which has Nike on top. Kinda shocked to hear guide introducing it as Nike. Tot this goddess only exists in books and legends. haha.... This Gate seems to be a square with tons of activties around: horse carriages, 5-men bicycle, break dancing (which is not very nice), ppl acting as statues. Cont seeing other parts of Berlin wall. There is this shop which sell small pieces (ard palm size) of Berlin wall at 7 - 8 Euro depending on the actual size. Finally, shopping street: Tauentzienstrasse! We started off with Wilhelm Memorial Church which is a very nice old bombed church. They did build a replacement next to it. But somehow, I prefer the old one. More flavour I guess.... the inside of the new one is nice though :D I like the blue glass. okok shopping! That street have Levis, Esprit, Zara (sale going on), Nike town (which is just 2 levels of Nike; got free loo here though hahah), mango.... I went to this shop Orsay and bought a white halter for 4.90 Euro only! haha... Wore it on the next day! :D Fren bought a white denim skirt at 14.90 Euro. Then we went to their Watsons equivalent, named DM cuz ah.... I wanna buy nail polish! =D Bimbo tendencies dun diminish when travelling, you see. Bought a tiny bottle of midnite blue at 1.49 Euro and quite a bit of chewing gum/bubblegum. Cashier there lead a good life. Customers have to unload their stuff from baskets and have to bag their own purchase so basically the cashier just scan and collect $$. =p At then end of this long shopping street is KaDaWe, Takashimaya equivalent. lol... Shopping is a tiring event so dinner time! At some Chinese restaurant at that street. Their cooking tastes weird; maybe its the water? =p anyway, think thats the worst Chinese meal I had in EE. (There is contention here among my frenz =p) After dinner, is hotel sweet hotel: Holiday Inn.
22/06/2008: Berlin, Germany -> Dresden, Germany -> Prague, Czech
OK good news abt here is I didnt write abt this portion into my diary so think ah I most prob wun remember much hahah.... anyway day started as a very sunny day. Thank god I wore my new halter! Anyway, came upon these girls wearing bridal gowns on this hot day so I walked over to one and asked what she's doing (in a nice way, I hope). She said they are selling lace made in a traditional way in some tiny old town. thats in summary la anyway, u gotta pay to chat with girls (guys shld know this) so I bought a piece of lace from her at 5 Euro lo. There is this nice square area (e pics after the mac sign) where we spent hell lot of time there. bwhahha.... fren A took pic then say some ugly item in e pics so retake; then smile not nice retake; umbrella flew into the pic retake. Imagine there are 3 of us there so every one of us went thru that so ya..... this guy by e roadside was luffin at us. haha.... lunch is free n easy on this day so we ate at a restaurant at Hilton hotel. It isnt as ex as it sounds la. Tink ard 18 Euro for that plate of turkey meat. Oh I drank beer cuz ah the "lace bride" gave me some drinks voucher. The beer cost 2 Euro, I think so effectively I paid 3 Euro for that lace? haha... anyway, I remember the beer and coke cost abt the same in that restaurant. okok main thing is this portion: after lunch we went to the loo in Hilton hotel and .... its costs us 0.5 Euro!! imagine a 5 star hotel like Hilton collection money for toilet like a roadside cafe! bwhahah.... Paris Hilton must have spent alot. ok... anyway after lunch is a mad rush to take pics as u can see from my photos. Really like those golden tips on their buildings; think i can get one for my future house? =D Then u saw these 2 ppl in costumes rite? We took pics next to them then I shouted 1,2,3 too loudly so I ah... got hushed by one of the ppl in e costumes *blush* Oh well... from then on, I am careful at where I shout 1,2,3 even to the extent of not shouting hahah.... tink my frenz not very happy at my lesson learnt: they dunno when to start smiling =p Ok after dresden is travelling to Prague! We reached Corinthia Panorama Hotel just in time for dinner! Which sux btw. hahah the chicken is too tough to be chewed. I gave up quite early. hahah My fren tried to shred the chicken and eat it with the pasta. Well u can see e amt that we left on e plate. hmmm seems that for a portion which I didnt wrote down, I rem alot. =p
23/06/2008: Prague, Czech
Today is tour of Prahu, an old town too where tour buses are not allowed in so we gotta walk! Once again sunny day; so ah lucky I wore halter too. At least there will only be 1 tan line =p Remembered there is this alley with tiny shops and I bought a Czech fairy tale book there for 15 Euro. haha... Had chinese food for lunch here in some alley. Ok, not too bad. Then went to this market street like thingy which sells veggies, sweets, biscuits, souveniors, flowers etc etc hahah.. Bought quite a few souveniors here cuz they all look rather cute. Our tour guide told us here is famous for roast duck with apples but somehow I cant seem to find it so in e end settled for duck w potato dumpling (can refer to prawn's camera album). The duck tastes like spore lor duck but it tastes slightly different with the sauce hahah... the potato dumpling tastes weird... abit gooey kind. Tried one and stopped. hahah... the duck is e only thing we ordered from this shop oh and drinks as well. It cost us S$16 each (i only rem cuz my fren harped on it. =D Thats why for this price its in S$ and not euro =p) After this dish of duck, we went in search of finger food! haha I bought a kebab! which is very salty -_-" so I ate half; fren ate 1/4; dustbin ate the remaining 1/4. I m getting resigned to the fact that food in EE is salty. After touring Prahu, fren n i decided to go supermarket near hotel. We ended up at some Ikea-equivalent named Bauhaus where I have to mimed drinking water to ask where is supermarket hahah.. Went there and bought 2 cans of beer (for my ma; it cost less than S$2 per can), chocolate wafers (for myself); 6 bottles of mineral water (4 are for myself) and an ice-lolly =D then i did the silliest thing ever: I gave the cashier 100 Euro note. And she return the change to me in Koruna (Czech's currency) So I have ard 2000 Koruna on my last nite in Czech! Wonderful right? haha... 2000 Kr is ard S$180. Hahah almost went mad.. Went in and requested help from some tour mates. I help them pay in Kr and they pay me back in Euro. That way, I got rid of 110 Kr. lol.... every journey start with small step mah. Then tour guide consoled me by saying we will be stopping by Czech for lunch in a few days then I can get rid of somemore lo. Then when I reach Poland and Hungary, I changed the Koruna into Zlotych and Forint respectively so managed to get rid of all my Koruna =D
24/06/2008 Prague, Czech -> Krakow, Poland
Exchange rate: 1 zlotych(zl) to S$0.69 (for me due to my usage of Koruna)
OK this is a day of travelling from Prague to Krakow so we spent most of the time on bus. Stopped to change money into Zlotych and hav lunch (17.5 zlotych). Lunch was not bad; Liked the chips but as usual salty But portion of chips lil so I finish the chips =D Went to visit Wieliczka salt mine. Very shuai guide! OK thats not the point. Air inside the salt mine is really quite fresh and unpolluted. I could only tell the diff cuz EE air so far has been rather dusty =p The sculptures all look like stone but once u shine torch light thru then u can see the translucency. Think the effect not very obvious in my album but oh well I tried =D There is this church which looks magnificent wth salt floor, walls, paintings (The Last Supper is 1 eg). Pics in another camera tho. There is this salty lake area where the shuai guide say got 2 ppl drowned there before. Cuz it was a much bigger lake then with boats across it. The boat capsized and the salty lake forced the ppl to float to the top and they died of suffocation. Not a very nice tot but fyi, i guess. Stayed at Hotel Orbis Cracovia Kraków where our first taste of non-aircon hotel rm starts. No aircon = open window lo = danger of ppl climbing in cuz we stayed on lvl 1 where there is a roof right in front of window. hahah lucky there is a smaller window so we open all the windows once we reached hotel and closed the big one before we sleep lo. At least the bathroom is big. And there is a sleeping area, living rm and cloak rm haha.. quite a nice setup only if there is aircon and the tv is at the sleeping area instead of living rm.
25/06/2008: Krakow, Poland
Morn - City tour starts! See palace, churches, oldest universities in an old town. =p There is this pic with lotsa domes rite? Kinda remind me of mosques... Gold dome mah.... sure got resemblance. Anyway, the Polish palace didnt look as grand as I imagined a palace shld be. Its just looks like a classroom block with courtyard hahah... =p erm with slightly nicer rooftops? okok lunch here is good! not very salty and its pork with prunes! haha got fren dun eat prune so carved it out so she has a hole in the pork. lol... oh well... i love this lunch hahah. nice! soup and desserts are good too =D this is supposed to be traditional Polish meal. haha... After this was the solemn Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Very somber guide. Rather disturbed feeling in e air (For lack of better words), but it may be due to the guide's way of explaining. Photos are only allowed outdoor and not indoor. But I didnt take any outdoor or indoor. Some of the buildings are converted into museums styled display. So u walk into 1 rm and there are glass windows enclosing certain sections. There is this rm which showcases the hair of the prisoners. Prisoners were asked to stripped and tricked into going into gas chambers. After they are gassed, their hair were shaved off and golden teeth are extracted. Hair was made into mattresses for German civilians. =S How can e civilians sleep on them? Wun they have nightmares? Or maybe they dunno? Braids can be seen inside the showcase somemore. =S =S Tour ended with gas chambers. After this, we have option of going back hotel or drop off at the old town so we chose to drop off at old town. For dinner, we ate Polish dumplings. 6.90 zl for 10 traditional Polish dumplings: 3 kinds - meat; mushroom & cabbage; potato & cheese. All agreed that meat is better so we ordered another plate of 10 of meat which cost 9.90 zl. The dumplings' skin is rather thich but the filling are quite nice. =D After dumplings, I went across to get icecream which I saw a kid eating hahaha its very tall! there are 2 size: small and big. I got the small one (4 zl). Fren asked:"why do u want to get the small one when u just need to pay 1 zl more for the big one?" After mine was given to me, she bought a small one too. ENuff said =p Then we nua at the square area which has nice music and cool breeze while my frenz take pics, 1 admired and spolit her souvenior; play with a cute bb girl and ah.... I was reading. hahah book too engaging =D After nua-ing for some time, we decided to move out butt and get the nice smelling kebab (9 zl) from one of the streets. It smells nice only didnt taste very nice so I just picked the veggies to eat and throw away the rest =p As there are 6 of us and we really hate to separate the 6 of us into 2 cabs so we took a horse carriage back! =D hahah 100 zl. Nice ride cuz of the cool breeze and its sunsetting time so still enuff light to see the streets etc. Anyway it rained that night and we open window = insect world at hotel.... lol...
26/06/2008: Krakow, Poland -> Vienna, Austria
Spent the day travelling from Poland to Austria. Reached Vienna in the evening where we saw some enthu Spain fans standing in the light drizzle rain along the streets ahhaah can sense the Euro Cup atmosphere. 1 hotel even hung footballs at their entrance there =p hahah Anyway, we reach Swarovski shop at 5.45pm so mad rush for shopping hahah... cuz they closed at 6pm. Fren bought a necklace at 80 Euro. this shop had 5% discount so it become 76 Euro then tax rebate of 8 Euro so equals 68 Euro which amounts to S$144. I went to Suntec to check the price and its S$170 so its cheaper by 20%! hahah... so folks, can buy swarovski in Vienna due to the tax rebate. =D Dinner is chinese meal at 青岛 restaurant. Meal was not bad but restaurant too hot cuz no aircon so the whole grp left the restaurant once the meal ended. The guide ran out without finishing her meal... lol.... poor thing but we didnt mean to rush her meal. Just that its too hot for comfort. Stayed at Artis Hotel Wien. Hottest hotel cuz 1) window open to some platform which can be used to access another room of the hotel 2) window is spoilt. BTW, EE window is rather interesting. U turn the handle upwards such that it become vertical, u can open it in a paned window way. U turn the handle horizontal, u can open it widely. then vertically downwards is to lock it. for both winter n summer usage I guess. This website shld explain it clearer. haha...
27/06/2008: Vienna, Austria -> Budapest, Hungary
Morn - city tour... Wats new rite? Went to Hundertwasser Village which is supposed to be some artistic village =p Nice place to take pics since everywhere is colorful =D Went to a few buildings before reaching Schonbrunn Palace. OK the palace was... rather nicely decorated. There are all sorts of designs there. There is 1 room with white walls and gold decorations; very nice maybe I can consider for my future house hahah... If I marry a rich bloke bah. There is this room with chinese deco. Wow didnt know Chinese influence was in Austria so long ago. And there is Indian deco too. And there is this room which is all black cuz Maria Therese likes black after her husband died. After the city tour, I asked the tour guide why is it in EE all the cars on the headlights in broad daylight; then he replied saying cuz it was e law once; so I asked why such a law; he replied ppl forget that its no longer the law so they cont switching on the headlights. Didnt seem to answer my qn eh. Oh well... he doesnt seem to be keen on taking tis group for tour tho he does hav an interesting sense of humour. OK end of city tour = shopping time at Stephansplatz! hahah Lunch at some marche like place where ketchup is charged at 0.60 Euro per packet. *roll eyes* There are fashion shops like Zara, mango and a H&M something similar to Topshop. I saw a pink and purple heels here but dun have my size. Saded =( Anyway, I bought mainly food here. hahah... There is this Manners wafer which is supposed to be famous n cannot be found in spore so I just go in and grab 2 packs and go. =p Along the way to Budapest, our tour bus stopped at 7111 Parndorf ie factory outlet ie more shopping! haha.. The only things I bought there are from Mango: Jeans at 9.90 Euro, top at 11.99 Euro, bling earrings at 2.99 Euro =D Nearby there is a sunflower patch bu I didnt go over cuz i dun wanna cross a highway. 1 fren did though. U can refer to prawn's camera album. =D quite nice. OK. then we proceed to our hungarian folklore dinner. The soup is abit spicy hot which comes as a surprise cuz i very long nvr taste spicy in EE. then the meat is cooked with some creamy stuff and comes with butter rice. All in all, not a bad meal. There are dancing n singing after the meal too. The dancing and singing are rather entertaining. haha! the lady singer and female dancers keep going to kajiao this old man and the male dancers will go flex their arms at the old man. Then the male dancers keep kissing 1 lady in our tour group. haha then they even got some of us up there to dance. so all in all entertaining =D a portion is at tour mates' expense la haha... Checked in at Mercure hotel Buda side and it has aircon!!! yeah!!
28/06/2008: Budapest, Hungary
Exchange rate: 1 Forint to S$0.01 (for me due to my usage of Koruna)
Morn-city tour... Getting abit sick of buildings le... hahah oh well... this castle comes with a danube river which is also known as 多恼河. I always tot 多恼河 is a song of a river full of frustrations; nvr tot its really a river bwhahhaha..... Anyway, I tot it has been so hot thruout the whole trip so I wore shorts and there is strong wind so abit cold. Lucky abit only otherwise will curse liao. So after a series of taking pics then its.... lunch time again! Best Chinese meal to date =D maybe cuz I can taste other stuff besides salt bah =p After lunch is cruise along Danube River. Very strong wind s hair keep flying ard so look like crazy woman in most photos. Oh and therr are ppl sun tanning along the river! Some of e females are topless somemore! woohoo~ for the guys la hahha..... Cruise comes with free drink so naturally I choose beer. =D Drank quite a bit of beer there; will I have beer belly? =p hahah After cruise is .... guess? u got it right! Shopping! At Vaci district. Quite a few shops are closed cuz its a wkend. =S No shopping on wkends? Wonder when they shop then? During office hrs? Anyway, lucky for us we walked to this Chain Bridge and there is summer carnival going on ie more souveniors and finger food and cheap beer! muahaha... the things on e chain bridge are rather expensive but oh well last nite in EE le and the atmosphere is so fun so a few of us spend quite a bit hahah also partly to get rid of our Forint =D No point changing back rite? =p oh the food! I bought some starchy stuff which shld be fried starch and taste quite nice hahah. Saw someone eating so just buy then we bought grilled chicken and pork. Chicken is rather hard but the pork is ok. And.... they are salty so whats new right. *Roll eyes* Then prawn bought a cinnamon roll which is baked over charcoal; that tastes nice too! hahah... then we wanted to took cab home, as adviced by tour guide. Flag a cab who told us our hotel is 300m down the road so no need to take cab. So nice of the cab driver hor? So in e end we cont walking haha.... then i walked that chain bridge once through le... so now walk 2nd time lo... hahah the nite view is really quite good.... lightings very nice... tried to take some night shots. oh well... i need a tripod. hahah.... then ard 10pm, we decided to walk back and met a shuai ge!! hahah he look quite young and eager to help and he speaks english! =D tho i think its not his mother tongue. =p so cute.... lucky cab driver dun wanna take us hahah otherwise wun get to meet the cute guy. So sad I didnt take photo w him =( Last nite lo = packing nite haha... Fren asked if i will be done packing by the time she finish bathing. I did finish and with time spare to read book. hahah frenz say my luggage so small sure hard to pack. Oh well, I m good. What can i say. *preens* hahha... anyway, all the things i packed in arrived 1 piece in Spore! Think the baggage handlers stop throwing luggages le =p Was quite worried abt the beer in the luggage =D
29/06/2008: Budapest, Hungary -> Bratislava, Slovakia -> Vienna, Austria
Home sweet home day! hahah but whole tour group agreed to pay 20 Euro to stop by Bratislava since we got quite a bit of time before departure. Take pics haha... last min scrambling for souveniors! =D best part of this portion is the cone pizza! haha I saw the nutella when we walked past it the first time so when we decide to get food there, I bought the nutella wan and its damn nice la! I had misgivings during the making of thing cuz the crust looks thick but it turns out to be crispy n nice! So I decided to go in and buy a savoury one: Tuna! Tried to tell her to add mushroom but she dun understand. She did show me onions and dunno what but they are not mushrooms so I told her nm hahah.. The last coned pic is taken by her =D. THe nutella one cost 1.60 Euro while the tuna one cost 2.30 Euro hahah.... Maybe can import into Spore? Wierd lei only see it there =p okok rush for bus to go Vienna Airport le. Some more shopping area there. Frenz were buying this chocolates named Giotto; It comes in packs of 4 with each pack weighing 38.7g and its cost 5.30 Euro. I asked my frenz whats so special. They say cheap. I ask spore have and they say have in Candy Empire. So i decided that I dont believe they will sell this thing more than S$15 at Candy Empire. Candy Empire sells this at S$13.90; Vienna airport sells at S$11.20 after conversion. Dont think the price difference justify the carrying ard of fragile items =p But this chocolate is frm Germany so maybe Germany will sell it much cheaper. Anyway, things at Vienna airport is rather overpriced so avoid buying there if possible. ok! on to plane and we reached Istanbul near to the start of Euro Cup 2008 finals! Exciting hor? Alot of ppl watching in transit hahah then we accidentally blocked some ppl so they not very happy. But we didnt get to watch finish then board plane le. sad for the rest =p they dunno e results until touch down in spore at 1525hr on 30/06/2008
Summary
- Its hot hot hot.
- Food is very salty
- Electric plugs there uses the round 2 pins so for those of us with 2 pin chargers can use directly w/o adapter
- Mineral water range from S$0.70/1.5 litre to S$5.00/1.5 litre
- They have gassy mineral water over there. Tastes rather weird cuz I bought 1 bottle there. Keywords to look for is Still, Neogazowana (Polish) erm... forgot the rest hahah
- Think best time would be to go in spring bah where temp is ard 18-20 so that u wun sweat so much when u walk/run to take pics
- For those countries which have their own currencies, its ok to pay in Euros too. Conversion rate is normally ard exchange rate.
- Oh ya most frequent asked qn - Which city/country I like best? Ans: errr... tuff fight between Dresden, Germany and Prague, Czech. Both are nice. hahah...
- Travelling between countries do not require going down and stamp ur passport so it dun seem like travelling across country. It felt that EU is 1 big country hahah... maybe it will become that way? =p
- Hotel rooms really dun have bedroom slippers and kettles
- Buildings are really beautiful and quite amazing that they can preserve till now but as the tour goes by.... I just got sick of it guess I am not a very architecture person haha.... Prefer a good mix bah like my Japan trip last yr where there r nice sceneries; nice buildings; good shopping. I am greedy. I want a trip w alot of objectives haha
- BTW, do you know Czechoslovakia no longer exists? They split into Czech and Slovakia in 1993. =p I didnt know until tis trip =D
- EE shoes are very ex. Average pair range from 50 to 70 Euro and they are not very nice. I am so happy we have URS and Charles and Keith here. haha...

errr thats all for rantings haha March 23 Places I want to goIn Singapore, I want to....
Out of Singapore, I want to
E day has arrived! The day has finally arrived! That I m sick of driving! Hahahah.....
Parents went Kuching from tue to fri.
Thur was section retreat to east coast so i drove! hahaha... quite proud of myself! drove from serangoon to hougang to tampines w/o getting lost. But I did stop to take a look at e map during the trip frm hougang to tampines. =D Then from tampines to ecp, I just follow directions of my WONDERFUL teammate, meow! hahah... Then from ecp we moved on to bedok north ave 4 for lunch also under the directions of meow =p then after retreat ended, trace back from bedok to tampines to hougang. N i got lost from tampines to hougang! -_-" turn 1 turn too early hahaha n i did that twice! hahaha wth rite? =p then frm hougang I went homE.... the amazing thing is.... 30 min after I reach home, i left it! hahahah to go meet fren for dinner at Suntec. Quite amazed by my lack of inertia lol... considering e fact that my legs r tired from cycling AND driving in e day =p On the way to suntec, jam. Then on e way home at nite, I go via CTE then signboard says jam to amk ave 3 so I exit moulmein lo... then.... BENDEMEER jam!!!! Inching kind of jam.... at 1045pm!!! my god.... my legs then were abit numb le..... By e time I reach home, i was like so blardy tired =S
Fri .... 12+ noon, fren called to say meet 3pm at chinatown pt to discuss abt Eastern Europe trip. Drove and reach quite fast considering it was raining then.... I cannot find e entrance to chinatown pt carpark!! hahah turn 2 rounds then park at fook hwa which is erm some walking distance away.. then fren complained walk very far =p After that go marina square to watch rule #1, show not very nice; dun like e ending. very rushed. then drove to airport to pick parents! hahah Didnt know they reached le so I drove up the carpark which is 1.9m then I also dun hav other choices so just try go in lo haha.... didnt hit anything =p Then frm there drove to auntie place to pass her something then finally home sweet home!
Hmm now that I wrote it down. Thats really alot of driving in 2 days hahaha... Think e main stress comes from dunno e van will knock into ceiling anot! haha =D March 08 1 yr lo!Hahaha today is 3 8 妇女节 which also marks the anniversary of .... my driving license! hahaha.... 1 year on, I m still persuading ppl to lend me their car! hahah fun!
Drove my bro to camp tis morn! woke up at 6am -.- now not very awake.... thinking whether to go back koon anot. In the meantime, just blog something lo. So long since I wrote something =p
Wanna blog abt my lousy new office lappie!! Its a HP lappie but I ahhh dun really remember the model hahahah..... Not my personal one so didnt pay attention to the specs. My only criteria was to get 1 with big LCD screen =) Anyway I got it in Jan 08 n it crashed in Mar 08! It lasted erm.... 2 months!!! All data gone.... Emails, meeting min, notes, SQL scribbles all gone! Its almost as if I start over like a fresh grad with no data.... Wah.... went abit cuckoo that day. Its a traumatising event when u realise all ur work data gone..... but 1 day later, I calm myself down. cuz
1) Most of the impt things I stored in a file server (shared by the whole dept kind so if that crash then ah.... alot more ppl will go mad la)
2) Almost all my emails got cc my own team
3) Not my personal data wah! n since everyone else in my own team has a copy of emails then can ask them fwd me again lo....
4) My old PC (my work PC b4 this lousy HP lappie come) still has an archive of my emails! Even though e emails are those before Dec 07 ... better than nothing la
My greatest heartpain is..... (dun bother guessing.... all ur guesses will be wrong) my SQLs collection =( all the complicated (to me at least) SQLs that I have copied/written previously all gone.... sigh.... Have to start another collection lo. This time i will keep my collection in my office wiki! hahaha then i wun need to scared my lappie crash again =p
Now..... I shall cont to treat my lappie as per previous! I shall dare it to crash! bwhahahahha.... October 28 DND 2007Main purpose of this blog is to update the height limit table hahah.. anyway just some comments on DND. It was good! e emcee is quite engaging. Amazed that a simple game of making noise between 2 groups can let diners be so enthu hahah... E event company is EVO. must take note hahah
Refer to table at Singapore Carpark Height Limits October 13 Singapore Carparks height limitWent out w grandparents n ma today so was driving to town. Big mistake cuz today is pub hols then town is full of car and the jam at cairnhill road was quite bad. =p Not very familiar w e roads there so changed lane a few times then errr kenna horn a few times hahah tink quite some time since I drove so abit not stable =p hahah ... Anyway on e way there, I realise i dun hav much choice for carpark cuz 1) open air carpark opp cineleisure is always full 2) hotel phoenix, where i normally parked, is torn down 3) Pa's van got a min height requirement of 1.95m. So, I have decided to compile a list of carparks height! bwhahah first on e list will be the one which I parked at today.

This time its to Bangkok!
Exchange rate was 1 S$ to 22.34 baht on average
First Day
Airport -> Hotel ->MBK -> Hotel ->Victory Monument
Arrive at airport at 11am Bangkok time, i think. Abit sleepy so not sure of timing hahaha... Flight was at 7am spore time =p We proceed to Samran Place to check in. Taxi fare was a whooping 450 baht. No idea why is it when we take from airport cannot on meter. Gotta check out why if we are going again. From hotel go airport only 217 baht! bleahz. After check in, then we go MBK! to look for food, in addition to shopping hahah damn hungry. Ate at MBK's foodcourt and I has curry chicken rice =p And we start our shopping! lol... Shop a while then we cross some bridge to go Bonanza then go back to MBK for erm teabreak (which is KFC). Shopping list at this area is: a white skirt (200 baht), a flowery bag(199 baht), 1 black and white heels(199 baht), 1 white heels (199 baht) n erm 4 big bottles of mineral water. Then after MBK, we went back to hotel to put down our stuff and proceed to Victory Monument! hahah reach there around 5+pm, 6pm. Then when I alight e station I was quite amazed by the super long human bridge! bwhahah... so being a tourist take picture loh! Then at 6pm, everyone on e bridge stop walking. Then I think i hear some Thai song playing from far away. I guess its e national anthem not sure =p Shopping here was quite good. got 2 shopping malls i tink. 1 is called center one. E other i forgot le. =p Remembered shopping list: e white shirt with brown belt (100 baht) and 2 tubes (100 baht) (which are expensive. Shld go Pratunam to buy. 3 for 100 baht)
Second Day
Pratunam -> Platinum -> Suan Lum
Morning we woke up quite late haha. Think we only left hotel at 9+ or 10 i think. =p So first we went Pratunam. There is this place with basement shopping. Think it is called City Complex. Haha.. think here shopping not bad. Remembered shopping list: red bag(199 baht), 1 sneakers (250 baht), 1 chain (50 baht), 2 tops (70 baht each). After this basement shopping, we went outdoor to pratunam outdoor abit like wholesale kind of place. Very hot! So wear shorts and something airy to go there. Tubes here are selling at 3 for 100 baht :-| hahah... alot of shoes shops! Some are selling at 99baht per pair! but too bad those either dun have my size or I dont like. hahah All I remember from this place is my rounded colorful shoe (199 baht). After sweating it out, we decide to cross over to wonderful air-conned Platinum! bwhahhah so many shops there!! so shiok.... My eyes already swivelling ard while walking to food court to makan! hhaha... ate some meatball noodle there not bad but abit plain =p hmm what did i buy here? =p Dont really remember lei... hahah shit too many days pass since the event le. Anyway platinum's shops starts closing around 6+ so we didnt even get to shop at the basement bah! Took cab back to hotel to put stuff then take cab to.... Suan Lum Night Market! Ha! First thing i saw there is a bag which i saw at wisma and cost ard $20 - $30! there is selling for 250 baht each! My god! so cheap! hahah was planning to buy 2; 1 for myself n a fren then i just find them so nice!! so in end bought 4 while my fren buy 2 then we manage to bargain down e price to 200 baht each! ha! But my ma still say too ex. =p then we ask the salesgirl where got dinner place then she pointed us to this T-junction where we found an outdoor thai restaurant. There we ordered Tom Yam, prawn w asparagus and stir fried pork. Tom Yam is good! bwhahah not as spicy as the one near our hotel =p Then while we having dinner it pours! -_-" so in e end we walk ard Suan Lum a while then have to give it up as lost case and go back.
Third Day
Chinatown -> Bo Hae -> Platinum -> Central World -> Suan Lum
Chinatown... e place of wholesalers! bwhahah... So many shops that wholesale accessories and hair accessories so shopping there is not very fun unless you plan to buy in bulk. One shop require u to buy 6 packs of hair accessories or 6 chains. Lol I come upon a shop which can sell 1 box by 1 box wan then i bought 1 box of 8 pairs of cherry plastic studs (48 baht) hahah so cute. Then my fren n i bought 12 pairs of earrings (48 baht) at one of the roadside stall. We also went to buy some foodstuff to bring home. My fren bought 10 boxes of pork floss inside egg roll kind of thingy; n i bought 2 hahaha... quite well received by my colleagues =p lol since we buy so many, Lin Zhen Xiang's salesgirl offer to send it to our hotel! Yippe! leaving our hands free to go Bo Hae and do more shopping! hahah... But hor... nothing much at bo hae cuz mainly auntie's, thai yellow polo shirt and children's clothing so shopping list there is 0. Not shiok so we went back to Platinum to shop at basement! bwhahha power hor? 2nd time at platinum but shopping list still not bad (chain at 100 baht, purple retro bag at 200 baht). then we cross over to Pratunam outdoor to do some more shopping and I bought a cute yello ribbon heel (199 baht)! hahah. Then because by the time we finish at Pratunam still abit early to go Suan Lum so we took cab to Central World to see whats high class shopping at Bangkok is like. =p E taxi ride took 45 min with 30 min stuck behind Siam Paragon -_-" When I reach there, the first thing I saw is the Naraya shop! Hahah really look quite high class and lotsa ppl inside but hor we got no liking for e product so we didnt buy a single thing from there. lol then go over to Isetan, the prices there are like spore prices loh including the triumph bras. Wacoal bras are quite cheap though but I nvr see those models in Singapore before. haha so didnt buy any bras. The whole Central World has a very spore feeling... its as if I walk into Taka hahhaha... dunno why... then now is time to look for.... FOOD!! bwhahah we saw Korean restaurant, a Korean style BBQ restaurant, Swensens and the individual steamboat buffet kind. In the end we chose the Korean style BBQ restaurant! haha not bad quite fun and food is ok lo just abit plain bah. Main course is followed by ... ice cream fondue at Swensens! bwhahah 4 scoops and chocolate fondue for 139 baht! I learnt a new word for honeydew there but I forgot what is it now -_-" bah!! Then from here we proceed to Suan Lum again! cuz yday it look quite interesting except for the fact that most of the shops close le =p This time we took train to Suan Lum! hahah... quite fun to figure ur way there. Have to change train then u hav to leave the station and walk a while to get to the MRT which is underground and uses token as temporary pass to take the train. Quite fun. But setup reminds me of spore also hahah dunno why. =p when we reach Suan Lum then we realise its actually quite expensive there! Bags with the same design are sold at 199 baht at other places but 350 baht at that place :-| so think we didnt buy much there bah. I did buy a small cute colorful pouch (35 baht) there hahah dunno wat to do with it though =p Then shop till 10+, then we decide to go back hotel n start packing! bwhahha packing is... not eeasy... too many things then luggage too small. Lucky the carton of foodstuff came in the morning then my fren packed the foodstuff into her luggage and I took the carton to pack my stuff! hahah.. This means.... my haversack still got space for Chatuchak!!!!!!!
Fourth Day
Chatuchak -> Hotel -> Airport
Morning we left hotel at 0930 i think quite early. Reach there ard 1000 + bah. Wah things there are quite cheap! There are slippers which cost 50 baht. I bought a pair of black pumps for 139 bahts only! cheap! The haversack for my bro which cost 280 baht (bargained down from 350 baht *proud*). 2 chains at 80 baht each. A brown T-shirt for my little bro at 100 baht! 1 big brown bag for 150baht. Clutch which is 200 baht! A pair of green earrings at 50 baht. hahha shopping there is really quite good but its very hot lah so after 2 or 3 hrs my fren n i tired then go back hotel n hav lunch le =p After lunch then continue squeezing all the stuff into my haversack and luggage hahah quite funny. since we have checked out of the room and are doing the paccking in the lobby. Quite unglam. bwhaha but who cares! Then its to the airport le! Sad! =( End of crazee shopping =p
Places to add next time:
- Think area behind Pratunam is a night market cuz when we left there at 5 plus there are tents being set up there.
- Then there is a shopping center at Silom Mrt also which looks ok too... but maybe slightly pricier. =p
Hmm still got a strappy flats (199 baht) which I cannot remember where I buy from... hahah...
Then 2 watches (190 baht for 1 and 100 baht for the other) which I forgot buy from Pratunam or somewhere else =p
PS:
- Consulted my fren the watches are bought in a building around Pratunam area haha but forgot the building name
- The new word for honeydew is cantaloupe hahaha interesting hor? July 15 Cedar photoshoot at National StadiumNational Stadium closing down soon so some ex-Cedarians organise a photo shoot out there. lol... Quite interesting. Its quite erm organised hahaha... They have a schedule, what time go where to take then got ask photographers to come and take. Photos will be put into CD which is sold at $10. Before the official shoot start, the photographer walk around and take pics of the various cliques. My frenz n i just wander around and erm take pictures lor hahah... saw some old frenz. I can recognise most of them at the first glance but got a few dun recognise at first glance. I wonder why. Did I change so much? my Sec 4 class has quite a good turnout; around 1/4 turn up. quite surprising since my sec 4 class is more of e quiet kind. Guess we all miss the good old days =p The first official shoot began at 1630hr and is just below the grand stand. Photographer stood on grand stand then cedarians stood on e track. So photographer asked us to cheer. lol... big mistake cuz once start cannot stop hahahah... think there's a consecutive of 4 cheers hahah super enthu. Kinda brought back the old feelings... nostalgia.... Then after the first official shoot, my frenz and I are quite sticky and tired le so we decide to leave ha! Anyway photos posted here are taken by my camera only. Other pics will hav to wait for the CD come out and of course when my frenz email me =p
Took cab to cineleisure for .... KTV! yippee!! Fren's belated bdae celeb ha!
Anyway, today on the news was the gender imbalance in Hainan. =p The older generation all want sons so that they have someone to carry on the family line. But in this way, more guys than girls so who help the guys give birth to carry on the family line? In the end, still end up the same, give birth to son who didnt marry so still cannot carry on family line. lol... Just that day I was saying, if I was born in countries with many many more males than females, my parents will be rich. They can demand for a high bride price when marrying me off cuz demand exceeds supply. hahahaaa... then my frenz ask," ur parents marrying daughter off or selling daughter?" =p lol now i tink abt it... ... ... Marry daughter off and make $$ at e same time, isnt it good? =D July 14 2 yrs and 1 monthToday was in office then saw some new staff hire's ic number starting with 83. These people are the same age as me!! N they just started work while I was like omg i worked for 2 yrs le. Suddenly I feel abit old ha! =p Over here, I seem to start work very early. But in my previous part time job, I am considered late to start part timing at 18. Ha! So weird.
Anyway, to celebrate my 2 yrs and 1 month, I went to watch Jacky Cheung's concert! (Actually it was a coincidence. Who wanna celebrate slogging for 2 yrs 1 month? =p) hahah... OMG for a 46 yr old, he is VERY fit! ha! He danced like for 3 fast-paced songs straight and he wasnt panting. Then sing for 3 hrs with a few 5 min breaks in between, and he is still not panting! ha! I mean he danced quite a bit lah. hahah but dancing is really not his cup of tea. His moves are quite standard. But his voice is good! ha! power! He put up a tiny musical as well ha which even more show off his vocal powers. Think his dance moves in the tiny musical is better than those in the fast paced songs. lol Then his encore was 1 hr hahahha n he sang 情书 during the encore. I was waiting for that song hee hee... And quite a few other of his oldies =p lol... The concert ended at 10 min to midnight lol... shiok!
Abit sad after the concert though. 人会老 =p haha like duh hor? From the close up shots in the concert, his face look quite old with quite a few wrinkles. I used to think he look quite cute when he was young (and when i was young of course =p)
Today alot of feelings n silly tots ha!
May 31 IT show 200705Today I went IT show! Think its the first time I go to a IT show! ha... or maybe its e first time I go with a purpose (to get a lappie).=p
I reach at 1pm along with my brother. Really super duper packed and I thought I go 1 hr after it open then it shldnt be too packed. hahah so squeeze loh. already there liao so just walk and see lo. hahah the first boooth that I see is the Sony booth. sigh... VAIO... C25 Pink was the one I was eyeing. cuz erm.... its pink! hahah quite a bimbotic reason nm... then the price is not attractive enough cuz its e same as wat i saw at best denki but it did give ms office away free. So I proceed to Fujitsu counter to see A6020 or A6030. Then A6030 not there yet only A6020. The screen is really look much bigger than the Sony VAIO wan then I think that I like to watch shows on my lappie so was tempted to get A6020. Ha! As A6030's specs looks the same as A6020 so I asked the salesperson whats the diff so he just read e specs to me. =S oh well... since i more ex by 200 so I decide to not consider A6030. ha After looking at this 2, I sat outside to tink abt which one to get =p my fren was smsing me wats e diff so i told her " sony has half e ram, 2/3 the disk space and a smaller LCD" for the same price! after i send that sms, I realise that i wouldbe a true bimbo if i buy e sony vaio. Ha! So I got the Fujitsu A6020 =p
Then today was exciting for another reason too... I kop the van from my father to go n drive to n ard town! Ha! I have nvr really driven in heavy traffic before so since today is public hol plus IT show so I decide to try =p hahah Quite... challenging cuz first i hav to drop 1 brother at sim lim square then proceed to suntec. haha then is my first time driving there so erm not very clear abt e lanes so i keep switching to left lane back to middle then back toleft. lol... tink a lot of cars curse me. or mayb they will just 4give m after seeing my P plate. *hopeful* when i reach suntec, carparks all full -_-" so i went to park at esplanade which cost a freaking $6 for 3 hrs! sigh... Then from esplanade i drove to orchard. =p erm so gotta read map again.ha! I know its like e town area n its a very easy drive but ... i still like to read e map before going. ha! parked at hotel phoenix. lol shop a while then realise that e sales person forgot to give me e MS office which I purchased so had dinner w my frenz then drove back to Suntec. This time suntec got parking space le! I drove into the loading n unloading bay which hava ht limitof 3.7 m so I just happily look for parking space without looking to e ceiling then eeeeeee! ha! I scraped past a 1.8 m height limit ceiling. =p lol so bo bian reversed outof e space loh =p ha! erm it caused a dent in e front ceiling of e van. lol... confessed to dad who... seems ok abt it. think he's resigned to e fact that his daughter likes to drive but tend to do damage to e car lol...
n tat abt summarises up my day =) quite a fruitful day. May 24 Japan's trip 200705Hokkaido is very beautiful!! hahah tink in winter it will be more beautiful bah... lol there got so many colours of flowers!! dunno why spore is call garden city when here only got trees. hahah tink there more deserving of the term. Then i got to see sakura! hhaha then its like... ppl's backyard have sakura can!~! hahahha so shiok hor? they just need to look out e window to see sakura then here we are have to fly like 10 hrs to see =p then i went to tis mountain which is mainly for ski-ing in winter wan then there still 1 m of snow there... amazing... but its not cold so weird =)
The onsen (hot spring) is shiok. Have to strip off all clothes. then the bathing area is sit on a stool in front of a mirror and there is shower. The shampoo, shower foam and conditioner are all of good quality so quite a good place to bathe since the bathrooms in the hotel are tiny as shown in the pictures. I just reach my hand and can touch the ceiling already.
I have decided i dun like hairy crab! so difficult to eat. bah! the hair is so prickly wan bleahz.... Keep pricking my fingers and the meat not specially sweet also. =p
Think Hokkaido towns have a very... quaint english town look. Shophouses along a river and the wonderful chocolate factory with the beautiful garden outside.
Then after 7 days in Hokkaido, we went Tokyo!
Tokyo is... shopping, shopping n shopping! hahahah just buy! all their things so kawaii! their accessories especially! =p I bought 3 bags n 3 pairs of earrings hahha... then lotsa handphone accessories which can last me 2 handphones bah hahaha so silly =p but tokyo is tiring lah... cuz no travel coach so we travel on our own so just keep walking n walking to take trains lah. Not like in hokkaido take travel coach then go on board then can koon le hahahhah... RY shld know tis best hahaha that time in taiwan, i go on travel coach then concuss le... same as in hokkaido but tokyo no no. so quite jialat. abit not used to it on first 2 days. think my legs are no longer the same after 4 days at tokyo. Their train systems is quite ok once u get e hang of it. Quite cool also cuz many ways to reach ur destination. hahah many ways = abt same time kind of many ways. lol... But hor... their interchange is horrible.... hahah... one of the walks from 1 train line to another train line is like double the distance between the 2 outram stations hahahah... walk until wanna die =p n i know why japanese so slim liao... their subway escalators is minimal. majority is with either have an upward direction only or no escalators =(
So in tokyo, we went shibuya which is like the hip place... ppl dress in bombastic hair etc. abit far east like but with taka pricing so not much luck there. There harajuku also young young hip place pricing is far east range. so got some outcome. We also went this anime street. my fren went crazy n bought like 80 ovver bucks on anime stuff hahaha.... then the first2 places are mainly girls then the anime street is mainly guys so we feel kinda out of place =p hahaha... oh ya they hav quite a few porn anime. weird eh? their real life porn is like everywhere; why want anime porn? *roll eyes*
hahah then we went to see their imperial palace... erm imperial palace garden bah. didnt get to go in cuz its only open on the emperor's bdae or something =p then they have this sentosa like island which is shopping shopping too! n there got ferris wheel! hahaha very nice Tokyo skyline =p
We also went to this street festival of theirs at one of their shrines. wake up at 5am *shudders* was like squashed during the festival kinda scared that my frenz will fall down n get trampled on =( anyway once their street fest pass, the shrine area is quite touristy so lotsa accessories shop as well... then they have lotsa small eateries there hahha happy.
Finally!! Disney land!!! hahahah very nice!!! e scenery is very good!! e rides look not bad.... not very scary kind... but hor... e queues were damn long lah. so in e end we only took 2 rides. cuz 1 ride queue for half an hr then another ride queue for 1.5 hr then we sianz le so we just walk ard take pictures n shop. highlight: their lights parade! very nice! really quite magical. n ppl there is quite civilised i m quite surprised. hahaha they all sit down n watch the lights parade wan so even if u sit rite at e back u also can see cuz everyone sitting down. =p I wanna go disneyland again!! n take more rides! hahah n see e light fest n fireworks again!! hahaha i told my frenz if i ever get a filthy rich husband, i shall request him book disneyland 1 day for honeymoon! hhahah shiok! then i invite all my frenz go there n play! yippee...
On the last day in Tokyo, we travelled to Narita to take the plane home. As we are worried that we are not able to catch the flight due to traffice jam, we reach the airport 5 hrs ahead of our flight. So we spend 5 hrs shopping at Narita. Shiok! lotsa food and there is a book store there so I bought a book, Helen of Troy. My fren bought lotsa food there cuz she wanna spend more of her yen =p
So ended my trip to Japan. Sure wish to go back there. |
